The Phoenix to Host First-Ever Community Building and Fundraising Walk: The Phoenix MOVES
The Phoenix, a nonprofit organization that builds on the power of belonging and connection to fuel a movement that’s changing how we approach substance use and recovery in this country and beyond, will host its first-ever community building and fundraising walk in Denver, entitled The Phoenix MOVES. Members of the recovery community and allies will join together for an activity-filled walk, celebration, and honoring of loved ones at Great Lawn Park on Saturday, October 14. Registration for The Phoenix MOVES is free, and participants can sign up by visiting https://phoenixmoves2023.funraise.org.
The Phoenix started in Colorado 17 years ago and has grown to support more than 279,000 individuals impacted by substance use. The Phoenix MOVES will be an inspiring 3-mile walk that aims to build awareness and grow the community while raising money to advance the movement. All funds raised through The Phoenix MOVES will help expand life-changing sober active programming to reach more people in need of support and community. Funds raised go toward The Phoenix’s programming being free for anyone with 48 hours of continuous sobriety.
The Phoenix MOVES will feature a fun-filled morning of activities surrounding the walk, including a pre-event meditation and energetic opening and closing ceremonies. Walkers are welcome to move at their own pace through a variety of fitness activities along the walk route. Participants who raise more than $100 will receive a commemorative t-shirt and additional thank-you items will be revealed for higher fundraising milestones.
