VR2 Youth Choir

Voices Rock! also started the VR2 youth choir. Third, fourth and fifth graders practice from 6 to 7 p.m. followed by sixth, seventh and eighth graders from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Congress Park location. There are currently about 90 kids participating. There are no auditions and no pressure.

“Our goal is for kids to have an opportunity to come without trying out and to sing something they really want to sing and do some basic choreography,” said Jill Teas, co-creator of Voices Rock!.

Last session, the youth choir covered “Imagine” by John Lennon, “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction and “High Hopes” by Panic at the Disco. “We trend a little more hip and poppy for the kids but they love the old stuff as well,” she said.
