The Edgewater Public Market is hoping the second time can be the charm. The Market, a collection of restaurants, many of which are food trucks’ first non mobile locations, and retail shops, opened last November. Before they could fill all their retail spots, however, the pandemic forced them to close. They held a grand reopening on August 1.
The grand hall, formerly full of dining tables, is again open for socially distanced art shows. The restaurants are once again open with new outdoor seating (along with their rooftop), and more retail shops are moving in. The market now features a sustainable products store where customers can bring their own containers, a fair trade business that features women-crafted clothing and other items, a new graphic t-shirt design company, and others. Both the bar and the brewery on opposite sides of the market are now open as well.
Masks are required and hand sanitizing stations are prevalent across the market.
In addition to the dining and shopping options, the venue is also hoping to have more community events, utilizing their rooftop and massive parking lot (the location was previously a grocery store). Keep an eye out for a dog adoption day, outdoor film screenings, and more. The Edgewater Public Market is located at 5505 W 20th Ave in Edgewater and a full description of businesses can be found at https://edgewaterpublicmarket.com/
