David Sabados and Sabrina D’Agosta first met in the spring of 2019 as opponents on the campaign trail for Denver City Council in District 1, representing North Denver. The two formed a camaraderie, and talked about how detrimental it was to the community not to have a local newspaper covering the race and the important issues facing our neighborhoods. After the election, they decided the best way to remain involved and give back to the community in a meaningful way was to fill the void and start a local paper.
Sabrina spent 10 years as an award-winning print journalist and another decade as a senior communications and policy advisor for state and local governments, including then-Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, the State of Colorado and Denver Public Schools.
David has spent over a decade working in national, state and local politics, running campaigns and leading campaign strategy for some of the most pressing issues facing our communities, as well as working with nonprofit organizations.
