Denver Day of Rock Returns Fully ‘Amped’

Event to Feature Chris Isaak and Ingrid Andress

Denver Day of Rock, a one-day, free music festival, will take place on May 28 in the LoDo District to benefit Amp the Cause, a charity that focuses on feeding children in need.

The festival will feature about 20 musical acts including national headliners Chris Isaak and Ingrid Andress.

Amp the Cause raises money for more than 55 nonprofits serving children and families through events, entertainment, and service projects. The organization states it has raised more than $10.6 million since its founding in 2004.

The event will have four stages, a beer garden, food trucks, and other family-friendly entertainment like the crowd-favorite Monster Mural, balloon artists, face painters, and more located throughout the area.

VIP lounge passes are also available for $250, which gives you access to the VIP hospitality tents located at all stages with catering and open bars.

The lineup will feature local, regional, and national entertainment. Simmons is excited to welcome back crowd favorites like Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers and the Pimps of Joytime, but there are a lot of other returning and new acts this year to look forward to.

“A little less than 50% of our bands are considered local, so we do have a very strong presence in that,” said Julia Simmons, Amp the Cause president.

After having to cancel the event in 2020 and then downscaling it in 2021, Amp the Cause representatives said they are excited to bring the festival back this year in a new location.

Traditionally, the event has taken place at Skyline Park off of the 16th Street Mall, but due to construction taking place this year, the festival is moving to LoDo with the main stage at McGregor Square.

“We’re ready to come back in force this year,” Simmons said.
