4th Grader Raises Money for Healthcare Workers

Dempsey Frandina is finishing up 4th grade at Downtown Denver Expeditionary where he said he loves his math classes. This summer he’s also bringing smiles to health care workers. Dempsey, who lives in the Sloan’s Lake neighborhood, started a GoFundMe (with a little help from his mom) to raise money to buy healthcare workers lunch. They raised $400, and Santiago’s Burritos kicked in another $200. “I think it was around 140 burritos,” Dempsey said.

Dempsey explained his school participates in “Better World Day,” and with DPS students at home, many chose individual projects. For Dempsey, that was making a difference to 140 healthcare workers in his neighborhood.
